Experience First Fridays

Take the free KC streetcar ride down to the Crossroads Art District on the First Friday of the month to experience some Kansas City culture. Take in the sites and sounds as the streets fill with food trucks, live music, vendors and art exhibits. Stroll from a fine art gallery to a pop-up all contained within this avant-garde neighborhood that is focused on the arts.

Enjoy a Drink

Once a small local brewery, Boulevard Brewing Co. has now grown into one of the largest breweries in the Midwest. Tag along on a 45-minute tour and soak in the history of this local Kansas City company, discover more about the brewing process, and enjoy sampling some of their creations for free. Stop by the gift shop on the way out to pick up your favorite brew!

Explore Museums

Two K.C. favorites, the American Jazz Museum and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, both share a building in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. Make a day of it and work your way through both of these popular attractions. Explore Kansas City’s jazz history through interactive exhibits such as listening stations and custom mixing boards. Then make your way to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to see artifacts and photographs from the late 1800s through the 1960s.

Visit Union Station

Built in 1914, Union Station is a historical and architectural wonder and is truly a sight to behold. Take in the 3,500-pound chandeliers, six-foot wide clock, and 95-foot ceilings that make up the Grand Hall. Once your done admiring your surroundings, explore the traveling national exhibits, Science City, or 3D movies on the Extreme Screen. Your whole family will also enjoy a visit to the permanent KC Rail Experience exhibit or the planetarium. With such an assortment of activities to chose from, Union station has something for everyone.
