See How the 2027 Kia Telluride Changes the Game

A silver 2027 Kia Telluride parked near a house.

Powerful, three-row SUVs are in a league of their own for folks who want a large, spacious vehicle for a growing family. After skipping the 2026 model year, the Telluride is back with an all-new, incredibly upgraded version that shows how well Kia understands what drivers want. Looking at the all-new Telluride compared to another popular model, like the 2026 Toyota Highlander, makes it abundantly clear why so many people are interested in a new Kia Telluride for sale these days. Let’s check out how these two vehicles stack up, and you’ll see that the Telluride changes everything we’ve come to expect from these kinds of SUVs.

Power and Performance on Another Level

Although we find performance important with any kind of vehicle, it’s especially vital when you’re looking at large and powerful models. These are both three-row SUVs, so you want to see impressive engines designed to ensure you have a great time behind the wheel each day. With the all-new 2027 Telluride, Kia gives you two incredible engines to choose from. While the 2026 Highlander also offers two engines, there are some big differences between them. Let’s see what kind of performance they each offer:

2027 Kia Telluride

  • 2.5L Turbocharged I-4: 274 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.5L Hybrid Engine: 329 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque

2026 Toyota Highlander

  • 2.4L Turbocharged I-4: 265 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.5L Hybrid Engine: 243 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque

Looking at the standard engines, the Kia Telluride has a clear advantage in terms of power, although things aren’t too crazy. Where the Telluride steps up its game is with the available hybrid engine, which provides 86 more horsepower than Toyota’s hybrid. Toyota doesn’t advertise the Highlander hybrid’s torque figures, but the spec sheet lists it as just 175 lb-ft, compared to the 339 lb-ft of torque the Telluride produces. Toyota’s figure may be for the gas engine alone, which would explain why it’s so much lower, but even that isn’t much for an engine of this size. The electric motor would add to it, but likely not enough to make up the 164 lb-ft difference. This can directly affect your daily driving experience, and makes the Telluride a fantastic choice.

Enjoy Your Choice of Drive Type

A great daily drive is about more than just the power that your car’s engine puts out, although that’s certainly a huge part of it. You want something that provides excellent handling to keep you in control, terrific suspension for added comfort, and robust braking power so you can stop as quickly as you need to. The Kia Telluride comes through beautifully in this regard, with independent front and rear suspensions, up to 5,000 lbs of towing capacity, and a tight turning diameter of less than 40 feet even though it’s a large, three-row SUV.

Where we find the Telluride really takes the lead, however, is that it offers you the choice between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). That might seem like a given, but it’s actually not. The 2026 Highlander is only available with AWD, which can be great for certain driving conditions, but it means you have no other option. Kia lets you choose the driving experience you prefer. FWD is easier to handle in the city and typically offers better fuel economy, while AWD provides excellent traction on dirt and gravel roads and when the weather gets messy. With both options available, Kia lets you get just what you want.

Tremendous Interior Features

As important as other factors are, most of your time is spent inside your vehicle. The 2027 Telluride has a gorgeous interior with an incredible range of standard features, plus more options to upgrade your daily drive. The starting LX model comes with a gorgeous 12.3-inch infotainment display with navigation, a 4.2-inch instrument screen, and a separate five-inch climate display for controlling interior comfort. You also get an eight-speaker sound system, a dual wireless phone charger, and tri-zone automatic climate control, all standard in the 2027 Telluride.

There are also numerous upgrades if you’re interested in the features of a higher trim. The SX Prestige, for example, comes with a larger 12.3-inch instrument display that’s easy to read at a glance, along with a 12-inch head-up display that projects important information into your line of sight. You also get a stunning 14-speaker Meridian Premium sound system in the SX Prestige, along with a 10-way power driver’s seat and an eight-way power front-passenger seat. It has heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats, with comfortable SynTex and SynTex Suede seating that you’ll just about melt into.

By comparison, the 2026 Toyota Highlander starts with an eight-inch infotainment display that’s far smaller than what Kia gives you, with a 12.3-inch screen available in higher trims. There’s an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, but you won’t find features like the climate display or a 12-inch head-up display in the Highlander. Toyota provides a single wireless charging pad, and there’s a nice 11-speaker JBL sound system available, but it can’t compete with what Kia offers. Ultimately, there’s some good stuff here, but nothing that can truly keep up with what you can get in the 2027 Telluride.

The Telluride also beats the Highlander in cargo space, offering 22.3 cu.ft. behind the third row, and 89.3 cu.ft. with the second- and third-row seats folded down. The Toyota Highlander comes up short in this area, with only 16 cu.ft. behind the third row and 84.3 cu.ft. of total cargo volume with the seats down. No matter how you slice it, Kia gives you more room to utilize.

Industry-Leading Warranty Coverage

No one wants to think about things going wrong, but there’s no denying that sometimes life can get messy and problems come up. When you have an issue with your vehicle, especially if you buy a new model, you want to know that the manufacturer has your back. That’s where the warranty comes into play, but not all warranties are the same in the auto industry. Kia is proving that by providing incredible coverage on their vehicles, including a 60-month/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty on the Telluride.

In contrast, Toyota provides a 36-month/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty on the 2026 Highlander. This is a pretty standard warranty with decent coverage that gets the job done, even if it’s not remarkable. Looking at other car companies, those numbers are pretty consistent with what you’ll find. That is, until you get to Kia, whose warranty coverage is dramatically different from other manufacturers. The Telluride has full-vehicle coverage for as long as only the powertrain on the Highlander is covered, and nearly double the powertrain warranty protection. As you drive and enjoy the 2027 Telluride each day, you know that Kia has you covered if anything goes wrong.

Ready to Upgrade Your Daily Drive?

It’s clear that Kia has cooked up something truly special with the 2027 Telluride, and we understand why they took the 2026 model year off to make sure it returned at its best. The Telluride is better than ever and offers an incredible range of options, including two engines, two drive types, seven- or eight-passenger seating, and ten trims (plus five for the hybrid powertrain) to consider. The result is an incredible range of options designed to meet just about any need, although things can get a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’re here at Cable Dahmer Kia to show you everything the 2027 Telluride has to offer and make sure you get an SUV that you’ll love driving today, tomorrow, and for many years to come.

Opting for all-wheel drive still yields a fantastic 35 mpg combined. Higher trims like the EX, X-Line, and X-Pro come standard with robust roof rails. By adding crossbars, you can easily mount a rooftop cargo box, a pair of kayaks, or a line of bicycles. Standard factory roof rack setups safely support up to 165 pounds of dynamic weight — more than enough for a fully loaded luggage pod. Towing Capabilities by Powertrain If you need to haul a small camper, a couple of jet skis, or a utility trailer, the 2026 Sportage punches well above its weight class: Engine Type Max Towing Capacity (With Trailer Brakes) Standard 2.5L Gas Up to 2,500 lbs Turbo Hybrid (HEV) Up to 2,000 lbs Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) Up to 2,000 lbs FAQ Frequently Asked Questions Which 2026 Kia Sportage powertrain is best for long road trips? For most families focused on long-distance driving, the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid (HEV) hits the sweet spot. It delivers 232 horsepower for confident passing and hill climbing while returning an EPA-estimated 42 mpg combined on front-wheel-drive models — meaning far fewer fuel stops and more money in your pocket by the time you reach your destination. If you frequently drive in areas with limited charging infrastructure, the hybrid's seamless, self-charging operation also removes any range anxiety from the equation. Does the 2026 Kia Sportage have enough cargo space for a family vacation? Absolutely. The gas and hybrid Sportage models offer up to 74.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space with the rear seats folded — a genuinely class-leading figure in the compact SUV segment. Even with the rear seats upright and all five passengers on board, you still have 39.6 cubic feet behind the second row, which is plenty of room for a full set of family luggage, a stroller, and all the snacks you can pack. The standard dual-level cargo floor on gas and hybrid trims gives you extra organization flexibility as well. Can the 2026 Kia Sportage tow a camper or utility trailer? Yes — the 2026 Sportage is a capable tower for a compact crossover. The standard 2.5L gas engine supports up to 2,500 pounds of towing capacity with trailer brakes, which is enough to pull a lightweight pop-up camper, a pair of personal watercraft, or a small utility trailer loaded with camping gear. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid models support up to 2,000 pounds, which still covers most small recreational trailers. Just be sure to verify trailer weight against your specific trim and configuration before hitching up. CTA Banner Ready to Start Your Next Adventure? 2026 Kia K4: The Compact Sedan That Thinks Ahead

Drivers searching for a Kia K4 for sale near Olathe are often looking for something that feels modern, efficient, and a little more refined than the average compact sedan. The 2026 Kia K4 steps into that space with a fresh design, thoughtful technology, and a driving experience that fits both weekday routines and weekend plans. It is the kind of vehicle that makes sense for commuters, small families, and professionals who want comfort without excess. Around Olathe, the K4 feels right at home, handling short drives and scenic routes with equal ease. It is built for people who want a sedan that feels current and capable without becoming complicated. That balance makes it a compelling option in a segment that is more competitive than ever. more A Fresh Take on Performance and Efficiency The 2026 K4 offers two engine options that allow drivers to choose how they want their sedan to feel on the road. The standard 2.0-liter engine produces 147 horsepower, delivering a smooth and steady driving experience that works well for daily commuting. For those who want a bit more energy, the available 1.6-liter turbocharged engine produces 190 horsepower. This upgrade adds a noticeable boost in responsiveness, especially during highway merging or passing situations. Both engines are designed with efficiency in mind, which is a major priority for buyers in this segment. The standard engine is paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission, helping optimize fuel use during stop-and-go traffic. The turbocharged option uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering more traditional shift feel while still maintaining efficiency. This gives drivers flexibility depending on how they prioritize performance versus fuel savings. The K4 also benefits from a well-balanced suspension setup that keeps the ride composed over uneven surfaces. Around Olathe's everyday roads and busier intersections, that smoothness becomes noticeable quickly. It absorbs bumps without feeling disconnected from the road. That kind of tuning makes it comfortable for both short trips and longer drives. Steering response is tuned to feel light but controlled, making parking and city driving easier. At the same time, it remains stable at higher speeds, which adds confidence during highway travel. This balance between ease and control is exactly what many drivers want in a compact sedan. It keeps the driving experience relaxed without feeling dull. Interior Space That Feels Thoughtfully Designed Inside the K4, the focus shifts to creating a cabin that feels open, practical, and comfortable. The layout is clean and modern, with an emphasis on usability rather than clutter. Passengers in both the front and rear seats benefit from generous space, making it a comfortable choice for daily use. It is designed to handle everything from solo commutes to shared rides without compromise. The trunk provides ample cargo space for a sedan in this class, making it easy to carry groceries, luggage, or everyday essentials. Whether you are heading out on a weekend adventure or just managing a busy day, that extra room makes a difference. The rear seats can also be configured to expand cargo capacity when needed. This flexibility adds to the overall practicality of the vehicle. Seating materials are selected to balance durability and comfort, which is important for long-term ownership. The surfaces are designed to hold up well over time while still feeling inviting. This is not a cabin that feels overly delicate or difficult to maintain. Instead, it is built to support everyday life without added stress. Attention to detail is evident throughout the interior, from the layout of controls to the placement of storage areas. Everything feels intuitive, which reduces the learning curve for new drivers. It is a space that quickly becomes familiar and easy to use. That sense of simplicity is a key part of the K4's appeal. Technology That Feels Ahead Without Being Overwhelming Technology is one of the standout areas for the 2026 K4, starting with its nearly 30 inches of combined digital display space. This includes a large touchscreen and digital instrument cluster that work together to present information clearly. The layout is modern but not distracting, which helps drivers stay focused. It is a setup that feels advanced without being difficult to navigate. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, allowing seamless smartphone integration. This means drivers can access navigation, music, and apps without needing to plug in their devices. The system responds quickly and keeps everything within easy reach. It is designed to feel like an extension of what you already use every day. Available features like a premium audio system enhance the in-car experience, especially during longer drives. Whether you are heading across town or taking a scenic route, the sound quality adds another layer of enjoyment. It turns routine trips into something a bit more engaging. That is the kind of upgrade drivers tend to appreciate over time. Additional conveniences such as multiple USB ports and available wireless charging keep devices powered and ready when you're away from home. When a day out might include photos, navigation, and streaming, staying connected matters. The K4 handles these needs without adding complexity. Everything works the way you expect it to, which is exactly the goal. Safety Features Designed for Everyday Confidence Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is one of the key features, helping detect potential obstacles and respond if necessary. This system can be especially helpful in heavy traffic or unexpected situations. It works quietly in the background, stepping in only when needed. That subtle support is what makes it effective. The 2026 K4 includes a wide range of driver-assist features that support safer driving without feeling intrusive. These systems are designed to monitor surroundings and assist when needed, helping reduce the likelihood of common incidents. It is a practical approach to safety that fits into everyday driving habits. Drivers benefit from added awareness without feeling overwhelmed by technology. Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist help maintain proper positioning within the lane. These features are particularly useful during longer drives where maintaining focus can become more challenging. They provide gentle corrections without taking control away from the driver. It is a supportive system rather than a disruptive one. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist add another layer of visibility. These features help drivers stay aware of what is happening around them, especially in tight spaces or crowded areas. They reduce guesswork and increase confidence in everyday situations. Over time, they become an essential part of the driving experience. A Design That Stands Out Without Trying Too Hard The exterior design of the 2026 K4 takes a bold approach while still maintaining a clean and refined look. Its fastback-inspired silhouette gives it a more dynamic presence compared to traditional sedans. This shape not only looks distinctive but also contributes to a more aerodynamic profile. It is a design that feels current without being overly aggressive. Lighting elements play a major role in the K4's visual identity. The vertical LED headlights and signature lighting give it a recognizable look both day and night. These details help the vehicle stand out in traffic without relying on unnecessary styling elements. It is a thoughtful approach to design that prioritizes clarity and presence. Wheel designs and exterior accents further enhance the overall appearance. Depending on the configuration, the K4 can take on a more understated or slightly sportier look. This flexibility allows buyers to choose a style that fits their preferences. It adds a level of personalization without complicating the decision. Overall, the design strikes a balance between modern and practical. It avoids trends that may not age well while still feeling fresh. That kind of restraint often leads to a vehicle that remains appealing for years. It is a smart approach for buyers thinking about long-term ownership. A Smart Sedan for Everyday Olathe Driving The 2026 Kia K4 brings together performance, efficiency, technology, and comfort in a way that feels cohesive and purposeful. It is built for drivers who want a sedan that supports their daily routine without introducing unnecessary complexity. From its available turbocharged power to its spacious interior and advanced tech features, it delivers where it matters most. It fits naturally into life in Olathe, whether that means commuting, running errands, or enjoying time out around local landmarks. For those exploring their options, the K4 stands out as a well-rounded and forward-thinking choice. It offers the kind of value that comes from thoughtful design rather than excessive features. That makes it appealing to a wide range of buyers looking for something reliable and modern.
